A SAFE SPACE FOR HEALING

Hi! I’m Amber. You can call me Ambie.

Who I serve....... .

Who I serve....... .

I specialize in supporting women from the Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z generations who find themselves feeling stuck, despite their self-awareness. My clients often embrace nontraditional ways of thinking and seek more than just conventional talk therapy. By integrating the mind, body, and spirit, I emphasize the interconnectedness of these elements as a cornerstone of healing.

Many of the individuals I work with are spiritual, intellectualizers, armed with extensive self-help knowledge and may be facing significant life transitions. They resonate with concepts like manifestation, astrology, and human design, and I gladly weave this unique language into our sessions. Together, we create a nurturing space for exploration and growth, allowing them to leverage their self-awareness for true transformation in their lives.

As I pursue licensure for psilocybin-assisted therapy (coming in 2025), I see a profound opportunity to deepen self-awareness and spirituality. I embrace the "woo" aspect of this journey, and challenge the word and notion that it’s merely a quirky trait for some… but rather, it is a deep honoring of those who reconnect with folk, ancestral and indigenous beliefs/customs/wisdom that have widely been erased and suppressed. Recognizing and honoring our intuition and the wisdom of indigenous practices is essential; dismissing them is a remnant of colonialism that negatively impacts us all.

Services

  • Most people are familiar with talk therapy as the primary avenue for mental health services to be delivered. While this is an integral part of the services I provide, it is not the only way I provide services. I believe in acquiring whatever tool may be necessary to provide healing to a client, which can be highly individual.

Talk therapy can be incredibly useful in identifying patterns and insights in a client’s life, as well as providing psychoeducation around an individual’s particular experience, how their nervous system may be responding (that can often make them feel out of control, powerless, or “crazy”), and about symptom management. Many of my clients have had diagnoses of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), C-PTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder) ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactive disorder), other learning disorders, and other trauma-related disorders.

  • Brainspotting is one of the tools/modalities that I love to use with clients that is both gentle and highly effective in processing and integrating traumas and rewiring new neural networks. Click here to learn more about brainspotting.

  • Transcendental therapy delivers therapy services that deviate from the strictly medical model of mental health care, and includes techniques from older wisdom traditions, including Shamanic practices and folk wisdom. Transcendental theory works to provide multicultural competence into mental health care.

  • Advocacy for marginalized individuals is a vital part of my work and drives everything that I do. Feminist theory is a big part of my work, though I also recognize that “feminism” does not necessarily address all identities of “female” or underrepresented or marginalized identities. I am actively committed to anti-racism work and continue to seek education as a White woman about how to be a better practitioner for others who do not have a White or other privileged identity. Many of my previous clients have included BIPOC folks and undocumented individuals.

fees & payment

As a client, I know how important cost is to figure out if a therapist is right for you. Currently, my rates are $175 per hour and I don’t take insurance - but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to pay fully out of pocket.

I have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.
